How does central heating work?
The journey of heat from the plant room to your apartment.
One source, different spaces
Heat generated in a central system travels to individual units through pumps and distribution pipes. Comfort in an apartment depends on boiler settings, hydraulic balance, insulation and radiator control working together.
What should you check in your building?
Start with the boiler type, distribution layout and existing meter inventory. Apartment heat meters are considered for horizontal distribution systems, while radiator-based heat cost allocators are considered for vertical riser systems.
Preparing the management file
Collect the installation drawings, recent fuel bills, meter list and maintenance records. This allows the entire system to be assessed alongside individual devices.
