The initial values are examples. Enter only the cost assigned to space heating; exclude hot water.

Both consumption values must use the same unit and cover the same period.

Apartment and building areas are enclosed usable areas and must be entered using the same area definition.

This illustrative result is not an official cost statement. It excludes hot water, district heating, faulty meters, minimum-temperature adjustments and special corrections.

THE BASIS OF THE CALCULATION

Two components.
One total.

Common share

The 30% common share is calculated using the apartment’s enclosed area as a proportion of total enclosed area.

Consumption share

The remaining 70% is calculated using the apartment’s share of total building consumption. All values must cover the same period.

Verification

Apartment area and consumption cannot exceed building totals. This formula cannot calculate a consumption share when total building consumption is zero.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Information on Tiered Natural Gas Pricing and Heat Cost Allocation

Following BOTAŞ’s announcement dated 3 April 2026, within the framework of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) and BOTAŞ regulations, tiered pricing for residential consumers took effect on 4 April 2026.

Under this scheme, the government subsidy varies by consumption tier, increasing the price paid per cubic metre. Depending on the region and consumption level, the difference in unit costs between Tier 1 and Tier 2 ranges from 60% to 80%.

Although total natural gas bills issued to buildings have increased, no changes have been made to the Regulation on the Allocation of Heating and Domestic Hot Water Costs in Central Heating and Hot Water Systems. Accordingly, costs continue to be calculated and allocated using individual unit meter readings and the building’s current natural gas invoice amount.
