Heat meters and heat cost allocators
Radiator-based allocation compared with energy measurement at the apartment inlet.
Two different approaches
A heat meter measures the heat energy delivered to an apartment. A heat cost allocator uses radiator temperature data to produce a consumption value for allocating costs. Its display should not be read directly as kWh.
Why a radiator inventory matters
Radiator type and size, device assignment and evaluation factors affect allocation. Track the device serial number together with the radiator to which it belongs.
Which device is suitable?
Choose according to the building’s riser arrangement and installation design. Replacing a device alone does not establish that the installation is suitable for measurement.
