A checklist for an unexpectedly high bill
Separate the effects of unit price, consumption and allocation.
Compare the periods first
Compare the same number of days and similar weather conditions. Comparing only the total amount in lira does not show whether consumption increased.
Check three layers
Review the main bill and unit price, total building consumption, then the apartment’s area and consumption ratios. Check whether a meter replacement or unit conversion occurred.
Request a written review
Give management the period, meter serial number and disputed calculation item. Photos and the previous statement support the review. Record any technical fault before assessing the allocation.
