Heating costs for an empty apartment
An unused apartment remains connected to the shared heating system.
When consumption is zero
Being away from an apartment does not automatically remove its share of common heating costs. In central systems, the area-based common share and measured consumption are calculated separately.
Verify the data first
Check the apartment area, period dates, meter serial number and readings. Investigate whether a zero reading difference reflects actual use or a communication or device fault.
Recording an objection
Ask management for the cost statement and supporting calculations. Submit any objection in writing, identifying the date, apartment and disputed item.
